I've had a long-ass weekend full of a screaming teething toddler - so I figured it safest to check my work given that 3rd and 4/5th place (two teams with the same exact roster - which has never happened before) are decided by 0.2 points.

That said ... First place is Tyree 1. Second place is David daCruz 3. Congrats! I'll be in touch about payment.

3rd and 4th (which as of now will be split by two teams) are between vandelay industries and fuzzy Dunlop and Bradley Cusick (who have the same rosters).

Last place looks to be DiSanto/Carmody.

Given that there were 4 phantom teams and 2 DQ's as expected.
Pay-out looks to be what I thought it would be:
1st Place: $5,250
2nd Place: $1,600
3rd Place: $800
4th Place: $350
Last Place: $50

Standings after Conference Finals

Only one more game left. Tyree1 (Shac) looking like he's in the drivers seat. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places (and last) still get money. type='text'>2011 Email / Rules / etc

I don't think the blog was used that much last year - but I'll be posting standings here.
Here is the email I sent out this year.

It's that time again .... the 10th annual BG Fantasy Player pool for the NFL Play-offs. All those included in this email are those who were involved last year (or have shown interest in the past). If you would like to pass along to anyone else - that is totally cool - however, please don't send this off to anyone that you know it will be a struggle to get them to pay as it will just mean more upfront work for me...So... the person emailing me must include your name as a "reference"...

The rules and submission process is the exact same as last year. That said - every year - there are too many people who mess it up - so please read the below carefully. If you mess up the roster entry (submitting an illegal team, position eligibility, submission deadline, etc) your entry will be null and void ...

Rosters: Each entry will consist of 12 roster spots outlined below (yes - it includes Individual Defensive Players). Each roster must consist of every team in the NFL playoffs, EXCEPT FOR ONE - which means you are allowed to pick 2 players from the same team - if you desire. You can only do this once, so only one NFL play-off team will not represented on your final roster. (So - T. Brady and W. Welker can be on the same team). Rosters which are submitted incorrectly, (have 2 players from more than one team or list players at incorrect positions) will be null and void.

Submitting Rosters: This is going to be different this year. You will need to go to this URL and fill out the form with your roster/team. Very important - please submit the players names in the format I list (First initial of first name - dot - full last name). I can't spend 10 hours on manual data entry (although I know it will come to that at some point). Please also pay attention to player name spelling.

Cost: The cost will be $50 per entry. You can enter multiple entries if you'd like. Due to the quick nature of this pool, the preferred method of receiving payment is PAYPAL. Please PayPal me under 'Give to an individual" and "as a gift" the $50 per entry upon submitting your team(s) to bgoffin@yahoo.com . The gift part is important to keep the fees down and end pay-outs higher.
If you do not have a paypal account then you can pay me via cash/check, but I will need to receive your money by MONDAY, JAN. 10th. Otherwise, you will forfeit your entry...NO EXCEPTIONS. Entries need to be received by 6:00 PM on Friday, January 8th so we can send out all of the teams by Saturday (when games start). I'd suggest sending in your teams early so you don't forget and miss the deadline...

Stats will be taken from " NFL.com Gamebook." Player positions will be taken from NFL.com. If you are unsure of a position (especially the IDPs) please check before submitting.

Official pay-outs, tie-breakers, and other variables not included in this email will be TBD, depending on how many entries we receive. However, here is how last years pay-outs approximately worked:
1st place: $3,800
2nd place: $1,200
3rd place: $500
4th place: $100
Last place: $50

*If we have Paypal fees, they will merely be taken out of the pot. Again, feel free to send to trusted friends, etc.

I will be posting scoring updates and announcements onto a blog, which should limit the emails...You can go there now to see last years standings, etc.

Every year I mistakenly leave people off or have the old email address of people who have participated in the past - so please feel free to send to people even if you think they're included on this.

Please email me if you have any questions.
BG

Roster spots and scoring system are below:
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 Flex (No QB)
1 However, here is how last years pay-outs approximately worked:

1st Place: $3000
2nd Place: $1000
3rd Place: $440
Last place got their money back ($50).

*Paypal does charge a small fee, which will merely be taken out of the pot. Again, feel free to send to trusted friends, etc.

I will be posting scoring updates and announcements onto this blog, which should limit the emails...

Roster spots and scoring system are below:
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 Flex (No QB)
1 K
1 DL (IDP)
1 LB (IDP)
1 DB (IDP)

Offensive Scoring system:
0.05 pts per 1 Passing Yard
4 pts per Passing TD
- 2 per Interception
+3 pt bonus for 300 yards+ passing
+2 pt bonus for 450 yards+ passing
2 pt for 2 pt conversion pass

0.10 Pts per 1 Rushing yard
0.10 Pts per 1 Receiving yard
6 pts per Rushing TD
6 pts per Receiving TD
1 pt per reception for WR and TE
0.5 pts per reception for RB
+3 pt bonus for 100 yard+ rushing or receiving
+2 pt bonus for 200 yard+ rushing or receiving
- 2 per Fumble Lost
2 pts per 2 point conversion catch or run

Defensive Scoring system:
1 pt per tackle
0.33 per Assisted Tackle
5 pt per Interception
4 pt per Sack
2 pt per Forced Fumble
2 pt per Fumble Recovery
1 pt per Pass Deflected
6 pts for Non-Special Teams TD

Kicker Scoring system:
1 pt per XP
-1 pt per Missed XP
0.1 pt per yard of FG (29 yarder = 2.9 points; 41 yarder = 4.1 points)
- 1 pt per Missed FG UNDER 45 yards

2009 Final Standings

Hey All - Congratulations goes to:
The Blaggers who won first place ($3K)

David DaCruz2 came in 2nd ($1K)

Goldie came in 3rd ($450)

SuperChargers came in last ($50)

Final Standings have been posted. To be honest, I'm happy that the team that had the balls to take 2 Arizona Cardinals to start the play-offs won it all. I mean, if you can't win by doing that in this pool -- I have no idea how it's won...

I am exhausted after the SuperBowl, but promise to post a write-up/review of this post-season.

I'm sending this out a bit early this year - as I'm going away for the holidays. "Tuna" Glantz has offered to fill-in administration duties for the first week while I'm away. So ... You will need to send your entries to NFLPlayerpool@gmail.com. Repeat - please send to this address (and not Tuna or my personal email addresses)

The rules are similar to last year - but there are some minor scoring changes:
Each entry will consist of 12 roster spots outlined below (yes - it includes Individual Defensive Players). Each roster must consist of every team in the NFL playoffs, EXCEPT FOR ONE - which means you are allowed to pick 2 players from the SAME TEAM - if you desire. You can only do this once, so only one NFL play-off team will not represented on your final roster. (So - Yes - W Parker and H. Ward can be taken on the same team). Rosters which are submitted incorrectly, (have 2 players from more than one team) will be null and void.

The cost will be $50 per entry. You can enter multiple entries if you'd like. Due to the quick nature of this pool, the preferred method of receiving payment is PAYPAL. Please PayPal me $50 per entry upon submitting your team(s) - email me/Tuna if you need the paypal address to pay towards . If you do not have a PAYPAL account then you can pay me cash/check, but I will need to receive your money by MONDAY, JAN. 5th. Otherwise, you will forfeit your entry...NO EXCEPTIONS. Entries need to be received by 6:00 PM on Friday, January 2ndso we can send out all of the teams by Saturday (when games start). I'd suggest sending in your teams as soon as the match-ups are decided....

When you submit your team - please use the following format (Position First Initial -dot- Full Last name) to make it easier on Adam:
QB E. Manning
RB W Parker
RB ETC

Stats will be taken from " NFL.com Gamebook."
Official pay-outs, tie-breakers, and other variables not included in this email will be TBD, depending on how many entries we receive. However, here is how last years pay-outs approximately worked:

1st Place: $2500
2nd Place: $850
3rd Place: $350
Last place got their money back ($50).

*Paypal does charge a small fee, which will merely be taken out of the pot. Again, feel free to send to trusted friends, etc.
I will be posting scoring updates and announcements onto a blog, which should limit the emails...

Scoring info below:

2009 Rosters and Scoring system

Roster spots and scoring system are below:
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 Flex (No QB)
1 K
1 DL (IDP)
1 LB (IDP)
1 DB (IDP)

Offensive Scoring system:
0.05 pts per 1 Passing Yard
4 pts per Passing TD
- 2 per Interception
+3 pt bonus for 300 yards+ passing
+2 pt bonus for 500 yards+ passing
2 pts for 2 point conversion pass

0.10 Pts per 1 Rushing yard
0.10 Pts per 1 Receiving yard
6 pts per Rushing TD
6 pts per Receiving TD
1 pt per reception for WR and TE
0.5 pts per reception for RB
+3 pt bonus for 100 yard+ rushing or receiving
+2 pt bonus for 200 yard+ rushing or receiving
- 2 per Fumble Lost
2 pts for 2 pt conversion catch or run

Defensive Scoring system:
1 pt per tackle
0.33 per Assisted Tackle
5 pt per Interception
4 pt per Sack
2 pt per Forced Fumble
2 pt per Fumble Recovery
1 pt per Pass Deflected
6 pts per non-Special teams TD

Kicker Scoring system:
1 pt per XP
-1 pt per Missed XP
2 pts per FG 29 Yards or Less
3 pts per FG 30 - 39 Yards
4 pts for a FG of 40 to 49 Yards
5 pts for a FG of 50 Yards+
- 1 pt per Missed FG UNDER 45 yards

Final Standings!

Hi All-
What a Super Bowl!! Final Standings are in and posted. ... Danny Nicolet squeezed out an impressive win (oh - and $2,500) for his first time -- after being in the pool I want to say 5+ years.... Congrats Dan!!
H. Levitan's rookie entry made a profitable one by winning 2nd place (and $850). Blakey Remer etched out 3rd (and $350). Jo-Jo Morgan came in last - and will get his $50 back.... There were a little over $100 in Pay-Pal fees this year...
I will be following up to pay-out the winning 4 teams this week...

Of the guys that were picked -- not including A. Toomer...
Chris Chambers, Wes Welker, and Plax were the top 3 WRs
Maroney, R. Grant, B. Jacobs were the top 3 RBs
Eli Manning was the top QB ... (Picked by 1 team - D. Cohen)
H. Miller was the best TE
Josh Brown was the best K
M. Strahan was the best DL
L. Hill was the best LB (also picked by D. Cohen -- just not on the same team)
A. Cromartie was the best DB (picked by Vandelay)

Thanks to everyone for getting in their money on time. Assuming that the ability of a player to score a 2 point conversion didn't factor into your analysis (and that no taken player scored a 2 point conversion this past weekend), I am comfortable in adding the following to the scoring.

Any 2 pt score (Rush, Pass, or Reception) will be awarded with 2 points.
